The Massawa-to-Asmara railway continued inland to Keren and Agordat. I traveled the Asmara-to-Keren section once on a Littorina trip that was set up by the Oasis Club, our enlisted men's club at Kagnew. It left directly from the rail siding inside the back door of Kagnew's Tract E compound. Eight soldiers, four wives, and a couple kids got on the Littorina on that 75°F (24°C) morning. ...
