The current officers, under the leadership of Mike, suggested that we change the length of office back to the one year so that more people would have a chance to be an officer and so that all current officers could vie for other offices. We also explored the possibility of the vice president automatically becoming president. In the discussion that followed, some wanted to leave things as they are. Others suggested that at the end of the year, if we change the by-laws, the president and secretary stay on an extra year to bring all terms to an even end. We tabled the subject to be brought up again later in the year before we are able to suggest the change to the by-laws in November and then vote on such a change or not in December according to our constitution. We also asked that all members talk among themselves about the changes before the end of the year.
